Plein-air pen and wash on paper

St. Oedenrode

Almost every day we ride our bicycle to another town using trails that meander through the countryside. This time we settled down for lunch at a small restorant on one of several plazas in the centre of town. I made this quick sketch while waiting for our lunch.

This Plaza like all of them are small and dotted with sculptures and statues of dignitaries on pedestals,  mostly stemming from the days when the catholic church was dominant in this region. One big tree somewhere in the middle was obstructing my view; I left it out of the picture.
