Plein-air pen and wash on paper

Looking out the third floor window reveals a close-up of some highly skilled electrician’s work. There is a lot of interesting detail to sketch, but don’t expect me to explain how it works.

To save some of the wires, I applied some seldom used resist before painting the background wash. I had to make a considerable effort to remove the lid from the glass bottle that contains this stuff as it had been sitting idle on the shelf for a long time. It has a very unpleasant oder. The only (very good) reason for using resist is  that one can apply a wash continuously.
