Plein-air pen and wash on paper

In the Cold

Today, it looked really nice outside; a mixture of sun and clouds with an occasional shower. I ventured outside to make a quick sketch of the ferry terminal, standing on the walkway behind our apartment building. This would allow me to escape quickly back inside to get out of the rain or warm up for a bit.

As it turned out, it was not necessary as it took me no longer than a half hour or so to get the pen sketch together. The shading was done inside where it was warm and comfortable, and using felt pens from Faber-Castell.

The Ferry itself is missing. I’ll leave that for another day.
