Plein-air pen and wash on paper

It took us a few days to recover from our return trip to Nanaimo with trains, airplanes, busses, ferries and taxis; not to mention the jet-lag.  But today I went back to work to render some pen sketches from our holidays, using water colours.

One is from Montreal; the building is called Lady Meredith at McGill. There are many monumental buildings on this campus. Some buildings are vacant, while some appear to be in disrepair.

The other picture is from Quebec City, Rue de Marche Champlain. I made two sketches of this group of historical buildings from similar viewpoints as I like the complexity of the somewhat irregularly arranged structures along the hillside.
